Clearing up some confusions

So we got a few complaints recently regarding how hw wasn't treating us well. first of ,i want to address the fact that i really do not like handling social media, people have been saying hw doesn't let us write in social media or whatever, i just didn't see the point of two person handling the media, as i really don't have much else to say. This is also the reason why i agreed to work with hw as i wanted him to deal with the media. as much as i love drama on others, i hate it very much in terms of work cause its depressing and affects everyone's work ethic so much.

now for what i think about hw. he approached me with quite a few other artists at the beginning requesting to work with me on a project and it did took me a while to decide because of the risk it would take. i eventually decided to go for it and now towards figuring who to work with.in the end because of his message feeling like that's what i needed for someone handling the social media, I chose hw. as for the art side i really preferred to hire someone that would work under me to avoid clashes, but its still hard and risky since i'm not their boss nor will i be paying them so i wont have any last saying over it. hw wrote very straightforwardly his strength and weaknesses, he also agreed that i would have the final saying in terms of the art, and he did good through the entirety of the project. not going to lie we do have disagreements from time to time, but it always ends in an agreement and apologies.

i do read some replies on the internet once in a while seeing how the conversation goes for the project and its not pretty, reminds me exactly why i don't want to deal with media and even avoid reading it sometimes. i understand some people's frustration towards the unjust and white knightly attitude on how we handle things, so ill talk a bit about that. the project didn't start with it being a long game in mind from the beginning, i always thought that it would be short to test the waters and see how it goes from there. but soon after that everyone got too hooked in and we just did way more than a short game should have. even after hw mentioned the amount of content that will be in the game, we still kept adding which i soon realize that this will be a long project, not only on the art side but also the planning and programming. hw really poured his soul into trying his best to make a good timeline for multiple endings and convincing story, and also alter it to fit in what he had planned every time we decided to do something new, which in my opinion isn't easy. he was really determined in making a game that people wouldn't play only for the h content, i too wasn't sure about that idea since i thought the h was all that people cared about, but the positive feedbacks we got for the story and me myself enjoying the it convinced me to let him do what he wants to do, and yet people tend to flame him for saying what he did is too easy and they could write the same amount with much less time or what not, well people tend to forget the hardest part isn't just writing a story for yourself, the hardest part is doing that in a team and convincing everyone else on the team, its pretty much as hard as everything else that needs convincing and your teamate's trust.

as for payment goes, we all agreed on the split, in agreement of hw helping out with a portion of the project which he did handle a fair amount(e.g stories, dialogue, cutscene, map creation ,prop placement....) since he had the most experience with retro platformers. now there are people complaining that i should get more of the pay than hw. lets just say that that's for me to decide how much he is worth to the team.

as for update complaints. its true that the delays are hurting us a lot and i agree with everyone's frustrations, and people are mad with hw kicking of our previous programmer. i too was on that decision and it wasn't personal, it was just that ch working methods was too slow for the project, we did give him a sufficient amount of time but it just ended up in more delays. it doesn't matter how far ahead the art is, there are times where i need to make sure that the programmer is able to do what i wanted to do before proceeding the art, but he couldn't do a quick test because he still has a ton to catch up, the art and programming goes side by side at times. ch did quality work but not quantity, not close to it. in the end if the programmer cant put everything together, we do not have a demo. that's why we resulted in putting up the animations weekly which i absolutely disgust but we literally ran out of options since the demo delays were way to serious. now that we have a new programmer starting from near scratch i can only hope that we can catch up soon and stop all this drama and shady talking.

i do appreciate everyone's concern towards my well being and i can somewhat understand why do people think hw is mistreating us, because i don't update at all. If u guys are seriously worried for me for some reason u could email me, which i don't think i've ever gotten a email regarding this issue. i also agree that hw does seem aggressive at times on his replies towards you guys, but its only because of the well being of the project.as for patreon  i too do not really like the idea since it felt like trouble, which turned out it did, but not going to lie the support really helped us out a lot.

lastly, i hope this wall of text clears up any confusion you guys have, thanks for the support and tremendous amount of patient from you. i know some of you might pick apart what im saying here and only make sense of what u already believed in the beginning, but still feel free to drop a msg or email and ill reply them when i have the time.

sorry for bad gerammar . lol
